VI® Chemical Peels

VI Peels are effective for addressing hyperpigmentation, acne and acne scarring, oily skin, melasma and other skin issues. A chemical peel uses acids that raise the acidity of the skin, which loosens the substance that adheres dead cells to healthier skin below. A chemical peel can cause redness and irritation but this tends to heal quickly, leaving the skin refreshed and healthy.

There are five customized VI Peel’s available, each targeting a specific skin care issue. Each peel works well for all skin types. The medium-depth chemical peel is particularly effective for skin of color.

  • VI Peel for skin rejuvenation and anti-aging.
  • VI Precision for sun damage, body treatments and anti-aging.
  • VI Precision Plus for scarring, age spots and pigmentation.
  • VI Peel Purify for acne and acne scarring, and oily skin.
  • VI Peel Purify with Precision Plus for acne and acne scarring, and skin lightening

What Does Treatment Involve?

When your peel is applied, expect some mild discomfort. Following application, you will be given post-peel instructions. It is important to follow these instructions following treatment, which include sun protection, moisturizing and cleansing, and hydration.

What Results Should I Expect?

The peeling process will typically last up to seven days, with most peeling occurring on days four and five. Results will vary per patient and realistic expectations will be discussed during your first treatment. Having a good at-home regimen will help attain optimum results. In addition, smoking, excessive alcohol and excessive sun exposure will limit results. Results are less dramatic when chemical peels are utilized for prevention and maintenance (treatments spaced greater than one month apart) than when utilized in a more frequent, treatment-oriented way.

VI Peels are medium depth, so not all skin will react in the same way. If you don’t notice peeling following your treatment, you may not have many skin cells to remove. However, you will still experience the benefits of smooth, tighter skin.
