If coming for your first visit, please bring your insurance card, if applicable, and a legal guardian if you are under the age of 18. Please come prepared to provide your health history on your new patient paperwork as well.

Your first visit begins with a consultation with your board-certified dermatologist. Prior to care, we will get your health history and perform a clinical evaluation of the skin to determine which treatment options are the best fit. We will customize both a treatment plan and a skin care regimen if desired. Important pre- and post-treatment instructions will also be provided to accompany most treatments.

We accept a variety of major insurances for your skin care. We have examples of insurances we accept on our website. If you don’t see your insurance listed, please contact us and we will verify if we accept.

All three are medical charges you must pay out of your own pocket, even if you have insurance. Deductibles are a specific amount you must accumulate and pay each year of covered health services before benefits are provided by your carrier. Plans may also have separate individual and family deductibles and/or deductibles for separate services. Copayments are a set fee the member pays to providers at the time services are provided. Copays are applied to office visits, emergency room visits, hospital admissions, etc. Coinsurance is a form of cost sharing. After your deductible has been met, plan will begin paying a percentage of your bills. The remaining amount, known as co-insurance, is the portion due by the patient.

With our patient portal, you can access and manage your appointments, get test results, update your contact/patient information and pay your bills online. Speak with one of our team members for how to gain access to your patient portal.

VitalSkin Dermatology Ash Avenue provides patients with experienced dermatologists and providers. Our local providers are top dermatologists with extensive experience in general and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Jeremy Youse, a fellowshiptrained Mohs surgeon and board-certified dermatologist, provides a variety of treatment options for all patients. Dr. Youse specializes in Mohs surgery, excisions, full body exams, volume loss and Restylane®.

Before you arrive at your full body skin exam, you should take the following steps to ensure your dermatologist can easily examine your skin.

  • Gather your family history and note any history of skin cancer.
  • Remove all makeup so your doctor has a clear view of your face.
  • Remove nail polish on toes and fingernails.
  • Wash your hair so it is free of product buildup.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that can be removed easily if needed.

Mohs surgery has many benefits, and some even refer to it as the “best treatment for skin cancers.” This is because Mohs surgery is extremely effective in achieving total removal of cancerous skin tissue. Your doctor will remove each layer of tissue precisely from the exact location where the cancer originated. Once the tissue is removed, it is sent off to the lab to be tested. This process removes the guesswork of skin cancer removal and allows your doctor to remove all the cancerous tissue without leaving any behind. Another reason Mohs is recommended is partly due to its convenience. Because of the minimal tissue damage, most patients who receive Mohs surgery only need to schedule one appointment.

Everyone has a mole at least somewhere on their body—it is perfectly normal. However, there are several signs and symptoms you should look for to help you decide if your mole could be potentially dangerous. Here are a few signs that may warrant removal of the mole:

  • Jagged or rough edges
  • Uneven color distribution
  • Such as several shades of deep brown and a pink or red color
  • Size is larger than a pencil eraser

Facial volume loss is a condition that makes the skin lose fullness and elasticity. While it is normal, certain lifestyle choices can exacerbate the onset of facial volume loss. While volume loss does not cause physical pain or discomfort to the individual, it can cause the patient emotional and mental strain. So, what are the causes of facial volume loss? Volume loss can be caused by several factors. Including ageing, genetic predispositions, and lifestyle choices. Certain lifestyle choices include smoking, excessive sun exposure, and changes in hormonal profiles.

Restylane® is a dermal filler which uses hyaluronic acid and can be used on a variety of areas on the body. There are several types of Restylane fillers:

  • Restylane Silk helps smooth wrinkles around the mouth. It can also improve lip symmetry and restore lip fullness and volume if you have naturally thin lips. Results usually last about six months.
  • Restylane Lyft adds volume to the face and hands and improves facial contours, providing a more natural, youthful look. Results from Restylane Lyft typically last about one year.
  • Restylane Refyne helps soften and smooth expression lines. Results last approximately one year.
  • Restylane Defyne smooths deeper expression lines that require more volume, such as marionette lines and nasolabial folds. It can also correct mild-to-moderate wrinkles and folds, providing facial rejuvenation. Results can last up to one year.
  • Restylane-L can correct a variety of the many signs of aging, including nasolabial folds, marionette lines and furrow lines. It can also add fullness and definition to your lips. Results can last about six months.
  • Restylane Kysse is designed for lip enhancement, adding volume and fullness to your lips and smoothing lip lines. This can also enhance your natural lip color and provides flexible, natural-looking results for up to one year.
