Neoral

How Does Neoral Work?

Neoral, also known as cyclosporine, is in the class of drugs known as immunosuppressants. As such, it works to suppress and weaken the immune system. This may seem odd, since the immune system protects the body. In some conditions, however, the immune system can grow out of control and damage the body’s own tissues. Neoral stops white blood cells from damaging the body’s own tissue or, in some scenarios, transplanted tissues.

Conditions Treated by Neoral

Neoral is used in a number of conditions where the immune system behaves erratically. This drug is commonly used to treat severe cases of psoriasis.
