DOT Laser Skin Resurfacing

What is the DOT laser?

Dermal optical thermolysis (DOT) therapy uses fractional, micro-blative CO2 laser resurfacing to treat acne scarring, sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles and other skin issues commonly caused by sun exposure and aging. DOT laser therapy is fast and effective way to rejuvenate your skin.

How Long Does DOT Treatment Take?

The DOT procedure produces thousands of microscopic perforations in a dot pattern. Skin surrounding each dot is untouched, resulting in collagen production and quick healing. This leaves treated skin clearer and tighter with minimal downtime needed. There can be some minor discomfort with DOT treatment, but since it does not go as deep as most other CO2 treatments, pain is usually minimal. The procedure typically takes about 20 minutes depending on your individual needs.

What Results Should You Expect?

In many cases, your desired results can be achieved in a single treatment. However, if you have severe or a large amount of skin damage, several treatments may be recommended (spaced out a month apart). If additional damage appears from aging or sun damage, you may opt for additional treatments as well. It’s important to follow all DOT therapy post-care instructions from your provider. You should expect some downtime and should avoid excessive heat or sun exposure for several weeks following treatment.
