Dr. Victoria Godinez-Puig is a board-certified dermatologist, and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). She is also fellowship-trained and board-certified in Mohs micrographic surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery (FACMS).
Dr. Godinez-Puig grew up in Mexico City. After completing the French Baccalaureate Diploma in Science with Honors awarded by the French Ministry of Education, she earned her medical degree at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), the oldest university in North America (with its predecessor founded in 1551), and the most prestigious medical school in Mexico. During her time at UNAM, she was inducted into the Honors Society for High Scholastic Achievement (known as NUCE) and was recognized with the “Gustavo Baz Prada” award for outstanding public service.
After graduating from medical school, Dr. Godinez-Puig moved to Chicago to complete a research fellowship at the Dermatology Clinical Trials Unit of Northwestern University. She then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem, a teaching hospital of University of Chicago, and a Dermatology residency at Northwestern University, where she served as chief resident during her final year of training. Following residency, Dr. Godinez-Puig completed a Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of British Columbia, where she received extensive training in Mohs surgery, as well as advanced reconstructive surgical procedures.
Prior to joining Dermatology + Aesthetics, Dr. Godinez-Puig practiced Mohs surgery and general dermatology for four years in private practice in the suburbs of Chicago. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
She is passionate about delivering patient-centered dermatologic care, keeping in mind that each patient is unique. As a Mohs surgeon, Dr. Godinez-Puig is committed to performing surgical procedures with the skill and meticulousness necessary to achieve the best outcomes, while at the same time ensuring that patients feel informed and comfortable throughout the process.
Dr. Godinez-Puig is fluent in Spanish and French. During her spare time, she is an avid traveler and a dedicated foodie.
