MicroPeel

Dual Exfoliation Customized to All Skin Types

Woman receiving dermaplaning treatments

What Is a MicroPeel?

This procedure is a two-step clinical procedure combining dermaplaning and chemical peels. The MicroPeel can be tailored to all skin types, even sensitive skin! Most patients love this treatment a few days before an event as makeup looks beautiful on the new, fresh skin.

The MicroPeel is used to reduce the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, dullness and skin imperfections. We have a variety of peels for all skin types, however, we do not recommend dermaplaning for anyone experiencing active acne breakouts. There is a beta peel used for acne breakouts without the dermaplaning for those with mild to moderate breakouts.

MicroPeel Components

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a highly efficient, safe, manual exfoliation technique used to clear away dry, dead, superfluous skin layers and surface debris. This clinical procedure is performed by our medical skincare specialists trained in the use of a modified surgical blade designed specifically for this purpose.

Chemical Peel

Using optimized solutions formulated for resurfacing the skin by removing the outer epidermis and stimulating collagen remodeling to improve hyperpigmentation, fine lines, texture and skin imperfections.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

Most patients will do a series of MicroPeel treatments spaced two to four weeks apart, for four to six treatments. Maintenance treatment can be done every four to eight weeks depending on how fast or slow the patient’s “peach fuzz” returns.

What Results Will I See?

Since the vellus hairs or “peach fuzz” is removed patients will experience a smooth and soft complexion. The chemical peel is able to penetrate deeper into the epidermis after the stratum corneum (outer layer of dead skin cells) is removed. This allows for deeper correction for skin concerns like fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, textural issues and large pores.

Will Any Downtime Be Required?

Most patients will have no actual downtime, however dependent on the peel agent being used patients may experience redness, dryness and flaking. We have a wide range of chemical peels for every skin type ranging from lactic, salicylic and glycolic, with additional powdered vitamin C and retinol peel boosters. Our aesthetician will discuss which peel will be best for your skin type and schedule appropriately.

Can MicroPeel Be Combined with Any Other Treatments?

Depending on the patient’s concern or overall goals, this treatment is great when combined with various anti-aging, anti-acne and hyperpigmentation therapies as well as tightening and injectable procedures. Some of our patients will even schedule a MicroPeel procedure directly before Botox® or fillers. Patients can also see dramatic improvement alternating MicroPeel with Dermasweep™ and laser resurfacing. Combination therapy can help further correct damage and reveal healthier, more youthful skin.
