The KTP laser is used to successfully treat facial redness, broken capillaries and angiomas (red dots), rosacea and port wine stains.
KTP is a laser that specifically targets vascular lesions, dilated/broken capillaries, cherry angiomas as well as brown pigmented lesions on the skin. The laser works by heating the vascular walls and melanocytes causing them to weaken and shut down. The body will then absorb the vascular and shed the pigmented waste.
Patients will experience a slight tingling and warm sensation during the treatment, but a chilled sapphire tip on the laser makes it a comfortable experience. When these vascular lesions are shut down and brown spots are targeted a more even skin tone is achieved.
